A few of us made the trek down to Moab Utah for some unbelievable riding. Moab truly boasts some of the most amazing trails we have seen. It should definitely be on any bikers bucket list.

9/19 - End of Season Ride

The time has come. :( Our “End of Season” ride will be this Monday on September 19th. Even if you haven't been able to make it out all season, we would love for everyone to come down and celebrate a great year!

It will be the PERFECT ride for anyone that has wanted to come out through the year but hasn't had a chance (or have been worried about their skill level). We will break it up into beginner and intermediate rides. For the beginner ride, we will go over the basics of mountain biking before heading out and will take the time to answer any questions and work on fundamental skills throughout the ride. If you have ever wanted to check out what mountain biking is all about or are ready to dust off your bike if it’s been awhile, this will be the perfect ride.

We will be meeting at the Eagle Bike Park at 6:00 and will leave for the trails by 6:30. Tesh will bring her grill and we will provide hot dogs, sides, and some champagne for after the ride to celebrate a wonderful season! See below for directions.

Although we will still have impromptu rides as long as the weather will let us, this will be our final official organized ride of the season so we really hope everyone can make it out. Right now it's supposed to be 82 and sunny. :)

Directions: From State Street, head North on "N Horseshoe Bend Road". This is the road just east of Highway 55 (right by WINCO). Stay on this road for a few miles and you will see the park to your right (turn right before the large skate park). You can also type in "Idaho Velodrome and Cycling Park" into mapquest to get directions. The park website is at http://eaglebikepark.org/visiting/maps/ which also has directions.

Ride 9/8 - Camel's Back

Next Monday's ride has been moved to Thursday, the 8th, due to Labor Day.

We'll be meeting at Camel's Back Park at 6:30. The plan is to head up Kestrel and down Hull's Gulch or possibly head over to ride the Military Reserve connector up and back down Hull's Gulch. We can decide with the group of ladies who are riding on Thursday, but we'll be meeting at Camel's Back at 6:30 regardless. After the ride, we'll be grabbing a drink/food in Hyde Park or maybe even hitting the trusty ole' Highlands Hollow!

Enjoy the long weekend! See you next week!

8/29 Ride - Military Reserve

This Monday's ride will be through various trails at Military Reserve. Plan on meeting at the parking lot across from the dog park (Fort Boise Park) near the baseball field (nearest cross roads - Mountain Cove Rd and Reserve St) to be on the trail by 6:30.

Hope to see everyone there!

8/22 Pictures - Sidewinder

Wow - the heat! But even that couldn't stop us from taking on the sidewinder challenge. There was a wonderful breeze that saved the day and the downhill ride from the top of Sidewinder down through Kestrel was totally worth it. Great job ladies!

Tour De Fat

A few of us were able to volunteer some time at Tour de Fat this last Saturday. For anyone who hasn't had a chance to experience the festivities, definitely mark it on your calendars for next year! It was such a fantastic/fun event! The outfits were so creative and hilarious! We were glad to have the chance to help out! Thanks to everyone who came out either as a volunteer or a participant.

We can hit up Hyde Park afterwards for a beverage for those who are interested.

8/15 Ride - Eagle Bike Park

We will be meeting at the Eagle Bike Park this Monday and exploring some of the trails out there. Most of the trails they have are pretty mild and fun for riders at any level. Let's meet to be on the trails by 7:00.

Bring some food/snacks/drinks for yourself after the ride. There is a nice covered picnic area we like to take over. Also, we will be providing plastic cups for any cold adult beverages you may want to partake in afterwards.

Directions: From State Street, head North on "N Horseshoe Bend Road". This is the road just east of Highway 55 (right by WINCO). Stay on this road for a few miles and you will see the park to your right. You can also type in "Idaho Velodrome and Cycling Park" into mapquest to get directions. 8/1 Pictures - Red Cliffs

8/8 Ride - Polecat

This Monday we will be riding the Polecat trail. This is a 5.75 mile loop with a decent mix of climbs and descents. It's not a very technical trail, just one of the longer ones we do. Since it is a little longer then some, let's plan on meeting to be on the trail by 6:30.

We will be stopping for a cold beverage and food at Harrison Hollow afterwards.

Hope to see everyone there!

Directions:
Option 1 - drive up bogus basin road and take a left at Simplot Hill. This should put you on Cartwright road. Continue to drive 3-5 miles (it feels like forever) and you will see the trailhead and dirt parking lot on your left.

Option 2 - Go up Pierce park road to the junction with Cartwright Road. Bear right on Cartwright and proceed to the trailhead on the right.

8/1 Ride - Kestrel/Redcliffs

This Monday we will be riding Kestrel to Red Cliffs. It is a steady incline and then a really fun loop down that is completely doable for everyone. Let's plan on meeting at Camel's Back parking lot (off of 13th street by the tennis courts) to be on the trail by 7:00.

We will head to either Harrison Hollow or Hyde Park afterwards for food and a cold cocktail.

Hope to see everyone there!

7/25 Ride - Seamans Gulch Loop

Calling out all new riders and people we haven't seen on the trails in awhile! This next ride is for you.

We will be riding Seaman's Gulch Loop this Monday. It is a wonderful short and sweet beginner ride which will help new riders get a taste for mountain biking as well as giving us all a little break from the heat (less then 3 miles). Plan on arriving prior to 7:00 as we will start up the trail at that time. Intermediate/advanced riders can loop it twice (going both directions) for a longer/cardio ride.

Following the ride, we will head to Pizzelchick for some yummy food/beverages(corner of state street and Glenwood) for those interested.

Directions: Follow Hill Road west of Boise past Gary Lane until you come to an intersection with Seaman’s Gulch Road and Hill Road Parkway. Bear right on the main paved road and follow signs to Hidden Springs. At .9 miles from this junction, turn right into a parking area and trailhead. The ride starts here.

Hope to see everyone there!

7/18 Ride - Table Rock

This Monday's (7/18) ride will be Table Rock/Rock Island/Rock Garden followed by a mini pool party at Angella's house near Table Rock. We'll be meeting at the Warm Springs golf course off Warm Springs Road at 6 (since this is earlier than our typical rides, be sure to let us know if you can't make it by 6, and we can push it back). The trail consists of a steep (but quick!) uphill followed by a loop up top with some optional rock and technical features to try if you're feeling up to it! Since Angella has been generous enough to offer her house/pool up after the ride, make sure to bring drinks/snacks, and we'll all head up after the ride. Please let us know if you can make it!

7/11 Ride - Hillside to Hollow

Because we've had so many new editions since our first couple rides (and in an attempt to mitigate heat stroke!), this Monday we will be riding the Hillside to Hollow loop. This trail is a good mix of uphill and downhill and is completely do-able (and totally fun) for any level. We will be meeting at the parking lot right next to Highlands Hollow Restaurant (2455 Harrison Hollow Lane, Boise, ID, 83702) to start the ride by 6:30.

We always have the option to head inside Highlands Hollow Restaurant for some yummy dinner/drinks after the ride for anybody that is interested.

Directions: Head up Harrison Blvd past Hill Road. You will see Serenity Spa to your left and will take a soft left at the next road and drive past Highlands Hollow Restaurant to the open parking lots right next to it.

Hope to see everyone there!

7/7 - Hulls Gulch Pictures

I think the mini-afternoon storm scared off some ladies for the ride but it ended up being really great weather. Perfect evening breeze and it was nice to escape the 90 degree heat for a bit. Really fun ride!! All pictures from the ride are posted on dirt dolls facebook page.

Because next Monday is a holiday, we are going to push our ride to Thursday the 7th.

We are going back to the oldies but goodies, up Kestrel and down through Hulls Gulch. Such a fun ride and completely do-able for everyone! Let's plan on meeting at Camel's Back Parking lot (right off of 13th street) to be on the trail by 7:00.

We can hit up Hyde Park afterwards for a cold cocktail!

Let us know if you can make it. Hope to see everyone there!

6/27 Ride - Eagle Bike Park

Monday's ride will be held at the Eagle Bike Park. Plan on meeting there at 7:00. We'll more than likely do the Junkyard trail, but there will be plenty of options to choose from. I know many girls are hoping to pass on knowledge from the recent trip to Trek's Dirt Series bike camp, so we may do a quick skills session before the ride if people are interested.

Bring any food/drinks you may want afterwards. For those of you who haven't been there, there is a nice little pavilion area we like to rendezvous in after the ride.

The park website is at http://eaglebikepark.org/visiting/maps/ which also has directions.

Hope to see you all there!
